Introduction
The GIGAIPC QS-N150A is a compact industrial embedded computer based on the Intel Processor N150. Measuring 165 mm × 105 mm × 27 mm, it combines DDR5 SO-DIMM memory support with multi-display, wired-networking, serial, removable-storage, and M.2 expansion interfaces in a small system format. Its combination of three HDMI outputs and two Gigabit Ethernet ports makes it suited to embedded installations that need several local displays and separate network connections.
What it does
The QS-N150A provides an Intel N150-based platform for embedded computing deployments. It supports single-channel DDR5 memory through one SO-DIMM slot and offers four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a Micro SD card slot, an RS-232 COM interface using an RJ45-style connector, and a combined headphone/headset jack.
For display connectivity, the system includes three HDMI ports, with CEC support on two ports. Dual Gigabit Ethernet is provided through Realtek RTL8111H controllers.
Expansion options include an M.2 2280 M-key slot supporting PCIe Gen3 x1 and SATA 6 Gb/s, an M.2 2230 E-key slot, and an M.2 3042 B-key slot with a SIM slot for a supported 3G/4G LTE module. Three optional external antenna holes are also provided.
Applications
- Multi-display embedded terminals and operator-interface systems
- Industrial monitoring systems requiring wired Ethernet connectivity
- Compact network-connected controllers with RS-232 peripheral integration
- Embedded systems requiring local USB devices and removable Micro SD storage
- Installations that need optional M.2 storage, wireless, or cellular-module expansion
Design considerations
The QS-N150A requires a DC input in the +12 VDC to 19 VDC range; the listed adapter specification is 19 V/65 W. System integration should account for the single DDR5 SO-DIMM memory channel and the intended use of the available M.2 slots, particularly where SATA, PCIe, E-key wireless, or B-key cellular expansion is required.
The three HDMI ports can support multi-display configurations, while only two are identified as supporting CEC. For cellular or wireless designs, antenna routing and the optional external antenna provisions should be considered alongside the selected M.2 module.
The specified operating range is 0°C to 50°C, with 20% to 95% non-condensing humidity at 50°C. These environmental limits should be checked against the conditions of the intended enclosure and installation site.
