EV-BM20x Evaluation Boards

Introduction

Fanstel’s EV-BM20x evaluation-board family is a Bluetooth® 6.0 development platform for assessing BM20x wireless modules based on Nordic’s nRF54LM20 architecture. The boards are intended to support firmware testing and early wireless-application prototyping before an application-specific host board is developed.

The family includes board options matched to BM20x module variants with either integrated PCB antennas or chip antennas. It also supports multi-protocol wireless development, providing a focused hardware platform for evaluating the module family and its wireless capabilities.

What it does

EV-BM20x boards provide a development environment for Fanstel BM20x modules rather than serving as a finished host-board design. Firmware is loaded through a Nordic development kit; use of a Nordic nRF54LM20 PDK or DK is required.

Two evaluation-board variants are identified:

• EV-BM20BM supports BM20M and BM20BM modules, which use an integrated PCB antenna.
• EV-BM20BC supports BM20C and BM20BC modules, which use a chip antenna.

Integration planning should also account for the required firmware-loading workflow. The evaluation boards require a Nordic nRF54LM20 PDK or DK for firmware loading, so that external development hardware is part of the setup.
