Introduction

DFRobot’s DFR1262 is a 6.67-inch flexible AMOLED display kit for prototypes that need a thin, bendable visual interface rather than a conventional rigid panel. The self-emissive AMOLED panel combines a 2400 × 1080 resolution with 16.7 million colors, while the included driver hardware converts standard HDMI input to the panel’s 40-pin MIPI interface.

Its flexible construction, maximum thickness of 1.2 mm, and portrait-oriented configuration make it particularly relevant to curved, form-fitting, and embedded-display concepts.

What it does

The DFR1262 provides a 20:9 AMOLED image area measuring 154.56 mm × 69.552 mm. It operates at a 50 Hz refresh rate and has a typical brightness of 450 cd/m², with an 85° viewing angle.

The kit is designed to simplify integration with HDMI-equipped hosts. A supplied HDMI driver board accepts standard HDMI input and connects through the included MIPI adapter board and FPC cable to the display panel. The package also includes an HDMI cable and a Micro-USB power cable.

The display does not include a touch interface. It is factory-configured for portrait orientation, so systems should account for that orientation in their graphics output and physical enclosure design.

Applications

  • Curved or form-fitting user-interface prototypes
  • Embedded visual displays in compact electronic projects
  • Raspberry Pi or LattePanda display integrations using HDMI output
  • Thin display assemblies where a conventional rigid screen is unsuitable
  • Product-concept and interface demonstrations requiring a high-resolution portrait display

Design considerations

The panel uses a 40-pin MIPI interface, but the included driver board exposes a standard HDMI input, allowing integration without directly driving the MIPI panel from the host system. The driver board requires 5 V power through Micro-USB, while its stated driver voltage range is 3.3 V to 5 V. Typical power consumption is approximately 3 W.

Mechanical integration is important for this display. The overall panel dimensions are 162.56 mm × 74.46 mm, with a maximum thickness of 1.2 mm. Its flexible construction supports bendable-display concepts, but the supplied information does not specify bend radius or mounting guidance, so those details should be checked before finalizing an enclosure.

The DFR1262 has no IP rating and no touch layer. Designs requiring environmental sealing, user touch input, or a landscape-native arrangement will need to address those requirements externally. The specified operating temperature range is -20°C to +60°C.
