Cat6/Cat6A Rackmount Patch Panels

Introduction

StarTech Cat6/Cat6A Rackmount Patch Panels are 1U cable-management and connectivity panels for Ethernet installations in standard 19-inch racks and cabinets. The range is intended to consolidate and organize network cabling while offering configuration flexibility for different termination and deployment approaches.

What it does

These patch panels provide a structured rack-level interface for Cat6 and Cat6A Ethernet cabling. Available panel styles include feed-through, punch-down, and blank keystone configurations:

• Feed-through panels provide a pass-through connection format for Ethernet cabling.
• Punch-down panels support terminated network-cable connections at the panel.
• Blank keystone panels allow installations to be populated with keystone-format modules as requirements develop.

The panels support both shielded and unshielded Ethernet installations. Their 1U format helps retain rack space for switches, routers, servers, and other network equipment while providing an organized point for cable termination or routing.

Design considerations

The panels are designed for standard 19-inch racks and cabinets and occupy 1U of vertical rack space. Selecting between feed-through, punch-down, and blank keystone versions should be based on the desired cabling and termination approach.

For installations using shielded Ethernet cabling, the selected panel configuration should be compatible with the shielding approach used throughout the network installation. Blank keystone panels can suit deployments where connector population or port arrangement needs to remain flexible, while punch-down and feed-through configurations suit more defined cabling layouts.
