Nexperia has launched two new multiplexers aimed at both automotive and consumer designs. The NMUX27518-Q100 carries AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification for safety-critical automotive use, while the standard NMUX27518 version is suited to notebooks, tablets, and enterprise equipment.
Broader Supply Range for Mixed Logic Designs
Each device is a 6-channel, 2:1 bidirectional multiplexer that can handle both analog and digital signals. Unlike many existing muxes that top out at 2.5 V or 3.3 V rails, these parts operate across a 1.08 V to 3.63 V range. That makes them compatible with today’s low-voltage SoCs as well as legacy logic families. Two control pins drive three 1:2 multiplexers at once, and unused outputs can be placed in high-impedance mode. Control thresholds line up with 1.8 V logic but remain backward compatible for 2.5 V and 3.3 V designs.
High Bandwidth and Low Skew
Signal integrity is a key differentiator. With 500 MHz bandwidth, the parts support faster interfaces than many general-purpose multiplexers. Port-to-port skew is typically 150 ps, helping preserve timing margins in systems that rely on tight setup and hold windows. For automotive engineers, this makes the Q100-qualified version practical for quad SPI (qSPI) memory expansion in ADAS domain controllers, infotainment units, and telematics modules.
The consumer-grade NMUX27518 can be used to route audio and video lines in notebooks and servers, where clean signal paths are essential.
Compact Packaging for Automotive Environments
The family comes in two packages: a TSSOP24 with 4.4 mm body width, and a HWQFN24 measuring 4 × 4 × 0.75 mm with 0.5 mm pitch. Both cover the –40 °C to +125 °C automotive temperature range, and both give designers options when balancing board space against assembly method.

The NMUX27518 and NMUX27518-Q100 are now in production and shipping in volume.
