EPC Introduces Three-Phase GaN Inverter Platforms for BLDC Motor Development
Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has introduced the EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131, a family of three-phase BLDC motor-drive inverter platforms based on the company's EPC23108, EPC23109, EPC23110, and EPC23111 ePower Stage ICs.
The boards are designed for motor-control development and evaluation across applications including robotics, industrial automation equipment, e-mobility auxiliary systems, and battery-powered platforms.
Built Around EPC ePower Stage ICs
The EPC91128 through EPC91131 platforms are based on EPC's integrated EPC23108–EPC23111 ePower Stage devices. Each board provides a complete three-phase inverter stage for evaluating the corresponding ePower Stage IC in motor-drive applications. The platforms are intended for brushless DC motor systems and allow the ePower Stage devices to be tested under operating conditions without requiring a custom inverter design.
10V to 80V Operation
EPC specifies an input voltage range of 10V to 80V across the new inverter platforms. Output current capability is rated at up to 29ARMS. The boards are intended for low-voltage and medium-voltage motor-drive applications where compact inverter stages are required.
Integrated Sensing and Protection Functions
Current sensing, voltage sensing, protection circuitry, and PWM control interfaces are integrated on the boards. The platforms can also be connected to external controller hardware for motor-control development and evaluation. According to EPC, the boards are compatible with a range of controller platforms used for three-phase motor control.
Development Resources Included
EPC provides supporting design documentation for all four inverter platforms. Available files include schematics, bill of materials documents, and Gerber files for the PCB layouts.
The EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131 are available now.
