JAE has expanded its USB Type-C DX07 Series with a new vertical-mount receptacle designed to enhance usability in internal connections. This latest variant, part number DX07S024WA7, introduces a built-in mating guide to improve plug alignment, reduce assembly time, and ensure more reliable connections, especially in space-constrained or complex assemblies.
Designed for Internal USB-C Use
While USB Type-C has become standard across everything from smartphones and laptops to gaming consoles and AV equipment, it's increasingly being used inside devices as a jumper cable interface, for example, within multifunction printers (MFPs), POS terminals, and power banks. These environments often have tighter design constraints and require connectors that are both compact and easy to assemble.
The new vertical version of the DX07 Series addresses this with a built-in guide that improves plug insertion accuracy. This is particularly beneficial for automated or semi-automated manufacturing environments, where misalignment can increase error rates or slow down production.
Full USB 3.2 and Power Delivery Support
Despite its small footprint, the DX07S024WA7 doesn’t compromise on performance. It supports:
- USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) high-speed data transfer
- USB PD EPR, delivering up to 240 W (5 A at 48 V)
- A durable locking mechanism and 10,000 mating cycles for long-term reliability
- Reversible insertion, typical of USB Type-C
The connector also boasts an all-SMT option (WJ4 variant) for designers optimising for reflow processes.
Built for a Wide Range of Applications
This connector is well-suited for use in:
- Monitors and docking stations
- Internal device connections in printers or POS terminals
- Wall outlets with built-in USB-C charging ports
- USB-C rechargeable battery systems and power banks
With a rated voltage of 48 Vrms, contact resistance under 40 mΩ, and operation across –40°C to +85°C, the DX07 vertical type balances mechanical strength with high-speed electrical performance.
JAE has been involved in USB Type-C standardisation from its early development and continues to expand its DX07 series with receptacles, plugs, and cable harnesses. The company’s commitment to quality and usability is reflected in this new design, which aims to streamline assembly without sacrificing signal integrity or power delivery.
