Applied Materials, Apple, and TI Rewire the US Chip Supply Chain

Uploaded image Applied Materials is expanding its US manufacturing footprint through a new partnership with Apple and Texas Instruments (TI), helping to strengthen domestic semiconductor supply chains at a critical moment for the industry.

Under the partnership, Applied is providing US-built semiconductor equipment from its facility in Austin, Texas, to support TI’s production of analog and embedded chips used in Apple products. These mature-node semiconductors form the backbone of everyday electronics and are increasingly seen as essential to reshoring efforts.

At the same time, Applied has announced a $200 million investment to build a new advanced manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona. The site will produce precision components for chipmaking equipment and is expected to create up to 200 jobs in manufacturing, R&D, and service support over the next five years.

Strategic Manufacturing Locations: Austin and Chandler

Applied’s Austin campus is its largest global manufacturing and logistics hub. The site plays a critical role in supplying advanced semiconductor equipment to leading chipmakers and accelerating production timelines. The facility includes automated storage systems and supports fast, scalable delivery of complex toolsets.

In Arizona, Applied is expanding its role in a growing semiconductor ecosystem. The Chandler investment reinforces the state’s position as a national center for chip production and supply chain localisation. Applied Materials already works with universities and partners across Arizona to support technology development, research, and skilled labour growth.

Closing the Loop on Equipment Supply

Applied’s role goes beyond simply supplying tools. By investing in component production, the company is localising the supply of the equipment used to make chips, a critical but often overlooked layer in the semiconductor value chain.

The company joins Apple and TI in a broader push to reduce supply chain risk, support US job creation, and build a long-term foundation for AI and electronics manufacturing in America.
