Würth Elektronik Expands Switch Range with New Tactile and Rocker Models

Uploaded image Würth Elektronik has expanded its switch portfolio with two additions aimed at compact, reliable control solutions for modern electronics. The update introduces a new size variant in the company’s short-travel tactile switch range and a rugged main rocker switch designed for space-limited panel cut-outs.

The WS-TASV SMT Tact Switch 4.5 × 3.2 mm is available in three actuation force options: 170 gf, 330 gf, and 520 gf. It is intended for both on/off control and signal input. The switches operate from –40 to +85 °C and stand 2.5 mm high. They have been tested to an electrical service life of 100,000 cycles at full load (50 mA / 16 VDC) and withstand salt spray and multiple reflow soldering cycles. The housing material is UL94-approved for flammability, and the compact footprint makes the switches suitable for devices such as remote controls, consumer electronics, and other applications where board space is limited.

Space-Saving Main Rocker Switch

For main power switching, Würth Elektronik now offers the WS-RSTV Rocker Switch THT Vertical. It is designed for a panel cut-out of just 19.2 × 6.8 mm, uses a 4.75 mm quick-connect terminal, and comes with either a horizontal or vertical “1” marking hot-stamped into the plastic. The switch is rated for 10,000 electrical cycles at full load and operates from 0 to +85 °C in typical operating conditions.

The PA66 housing material meets UL94 flammability standards, passes an 850 °C glow wire test, and has been UV-tested for outdoor use. Certification includes UL/ENEC 61058-1 and CQC approval. The contact material is a silver-plated copper alloy for reliable conductivity and long-term performance in demanding environments.

Availability and Support

Both the tactile and rocker switches are available from stock with no minimum order quantity. Würth Elektronik provides free samples on request along with technical documentation covering circuitry, safety, and test data via its online catalogue. The combination of immediate availability and comprehensive support resources makes these switches a practical choice for engineers working to meet tight project deadlines.
