When you are working on a factory floor or out at a substation, a multimeter that can take abuse and still deliver accurate results is essential. Voltcraft’s new VC-900 series, available through the Conrad Sourcing Platform, was clearly built with this in mind. The two models in the range, VC-905 and VC-915, are tough, easy to handle, and designed to keep readings clear in any environment.
Both multimeters are sealed to IP65, so dust and water spray are not a concern, and they carry safety ratings of CAT III 1000 V (VC-905) and CAT IV 1000 V (VC-915). For anyone working with high-voltage distribution or complex electrical systems, that level of protection is not just nice to have, it’s a requirement.
Displays You Can Actually Read
One of the biggest frustrations for field engineers is trying to read a screen in poor light or direct sun. The VC-900’s transflective display solves that problem, staying sharp whether you are outdoors or in a dark panel room. Big digits and a clear bar graph mean results are easy to spot. The VC-905 offers 6,000 counts with 0.6% accuracy, while the VC-915 bumps that up to 20,000 counts and 0.5%, which is more than enough precision for maintenance and troubleshooting.
Built for Hands-On Work
Voltcraft have also paid attention to the small things that make a big difference in daily use. The housing is rubberised, there’s a fold-out stand for bench work, and strong magnets let you stick the meter to a cabinet door so both hands are free. Large buttons and a built-in light mean you can still work comfortably with gloves on or in a poorly lit area.
Data You Can Take with You
The VC-915 goes a step further with a data logger and Bluetooth link. This lets you capture measurements over time and transfer them to a phone or tablet for later review, ideal if you are monitoring equipment behaviour or sharing results with a colleague.
These new models are not just about specs on paper. They are practical, well-thought-out tools for engineers who spend time in the field and need equipment that won’t slow them down.
