Toshiba Adds Nine MOSFETs for 24V and 48V Industrial Power Systems

Uploaded image Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its N-channel power MOSFET portfolio with nine new devices designed for industrial power systems. The lineup includes three 100V MOSFETs for 48V power rails and six 60V MOSFETs for 24V systems.

The new devices are available in three package options: SOT-23F, TSOP6F, and UDFN6B. Toshiba states that the products target applications requiring improved efficiency, low power loss, and compact board layouts in industrial and consumer equipment. The new MOSFETs are N-channel power devices used for switching and power management in 24V and 48V electrical systems.

Three Package Options

The new lineup is offered in three package formats with different power dissipation capabilities. SOT-23F measures 2.9 mm × 2.4 mm and provides power dissipation of 1W. TSOP6F measures 2.9 mm × 2.8 mm and increases power dissipation to 1.5W. UDFN6B is the smallest option at 2.0 mm × 2.0 mm and is rated for 1.25W.

Toshiba states that all package options maintain low on-resistance while addressing different board space and thermal requirements.

Devices for 48V and 24V Power Rails

For 48V systems, Toshiba has introduced three 100V-rated MOSFETs: the SSM3K387R, SSM6K387R, and SSM6K387NU. All three devices feature a maximum RDS(ON) of 198 mΩ.

The company also introduced six 60V MOSFETs for 24V systems. The SSM3K388R, SSM6K388R, and SSM6K388NU feature a maximum RDS(ON) of 99 mΩ, while the SSM3K389R, SSM6K389R, and SSM6K389NU provide a maximum RDS(ON) of 200 mΩ.

According to Toshiba, industrial equipment power systems are increasingly moving from 12V and 24V architectures toward 48V designs. The company developed the new 100V devices to address voltage surges that can occur on 48V power rails.

Industrial and Consumer Applications

Toshiba lists industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs), inverters, servo motors, and servers among the target applications for the new devices.

The company also identifies consumer products including LED lighting, water heaters, water purifiers, and robotic vacuum cleaners as potential application areas. The new devices form part of Toshiba's ongoing expansion of its N-channel MOSFET portfolio for industrial power applications.
