Vishay AEC-Q200 Chip Resistors Perform to 70 GHz

Vishay’s CHA series thin film chip resistors deliver stable 70 GHz performance for automotive, aerospace, and RF applications.

As electronic systems push further into high-frequency and high-reliability domains, the demand for components that can perform consistently under stress continues to rise. Vishay Intertechnology has responded with the launch of a new series of thin film chip resistors designed specifically for these environments. The Vishay Sfernice CHA series delivers stable, high-frequency performance up to 70 GHz in a compact 02016 case size. AEC-Q200 qualified and designed for demanding markets including automotive, aerospace, telecom, and military. The series supports resistance values from 10 Ω to 500 Ω. One of the standout features is the CHA series’ low internal reactance. The resistors behave more like pure resistive components, with a nearly flat Z/R ratio across the entire frequency range. Vishay notes that the devices maintain this stability even after the harshest AEC-Q200 stress tests, making them highly reliable for use in hostile operating environments. Typical applications include ADAS, LIDAR, 4D radar systems, RF antennas, LEO satellite communications, military telemetry, and drone guidance systems. The devices offer a limiting voltage of 30 V, a power rating of 30 mW at 70 °C, and a temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm/°C (with ±50 ppm/°C available on request). For engineers needing accurate simulation, the CHA series includes S-parameter data, 3D models for Ansys HFSS™, and scalable Modelithics Microwave Global Models™. Vishay also provides tape and reel packaging, and the components are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green. This launch adds to Vishay’s extensive portfolio of high-reliability passive components, a key part of its offering to engineers designing for mission-critical systems.
