Keysight Pushes EMI Test Speeds with New Real-Time 1 GHz Upgrade

Keysight’s updated PXE EMI Receiver now supports 1 GHz gapless real-time bandwidth, cutting test times and boosting EMC troubleshooting accuracy.

Uploaded image Keysight Technologies has upgraded its PXE Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Receiver with a significant leap in capability. Real-time, gapless scanning across a full 1 GHz bandwidth. That means engineers can now measure from 30 MHz to 1 GHz in one continuous sweep, instead of splitting the process into multiple steps.

The improvement isn’t just about convenience. It’s a serious time-saver, especially for teams under pressure to troubleshoot complex designs or push products through certification faster. EMI issues, particularly the kind that only show up intermittently, are notoriously difficult to catch. With this new receiver, you’re far less likely to miss them.

What’s New, and Why It Matters

At the core of the upgrade is Keysight’s Time Domain Scan (TDS) combined with a new standalone stream processing unit (model N9048BSPU). This setup speeds things up dramatically, with some users now reporting hours of troubleshooting being reduced to just a few minutes.

The system is also fully compliant with CISPR 16-1-1:2019, which means test results meet the latest global EMC standards. That’s a must for manufacturers juggling faster development cycles and tighter launch schedules.

Jason Kary, who leads Keysight’s Electronic Industrial Solutions Group, said, “Whether it’s a compliance lab or an in-house EMC team, engineers can now get CISPR-compliant results with more speed and confidence. This upgrade gives them the real-time visibility and sensitivity they need to cut debugging time and hit deadlines.”

A Joint Effort with TOYO

TOYO Corporation has been working closely with Keysight on this, integrating the updated PXE Receiver into its EPX software. That pairing brings together hardware and automation for faster, smoother diagnostics.

Yoshimichi Imaizumi, Senior VP at TOYO, said “We’re proud to offer a complete solution that speeds up troubleshooting and helps engineers stay compliant.”

The enhanced receiver will be on display at Techno-Frontier 2025 in Tokyo, running from July 23 to 25. Look for it at TOYO’s booth: 3-GG04.
