Vishay’s M61 Trimmer Offers Industrial Precision in a Compact Form

Vishay’s M61 cermet trimmer offers tuning accuracy, flexible mounting options, and sealed construction for rugged industrial use.

Uploaded image Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the M61, a compact 3/8-inch square single-turn trimmer that balances long-term stability with mechanical flexibility, two traits often at odds in industrial designs. Whether it's for calibration, voltage adjustment, or fine-tuning signal levels, this component is designed to quietly handle the task for years to come.

With both top and side adjustment styles, the M61 can be tailored to fit layout and accessibility needs. Engineers can also choose between an extended shaft, cross-slot rotor, or finger-operated knob, depending on whether the adjustment is intended for factory setup or field servicing.

Stability That Holds Its Ground

The electrical performance covers a wide 10 Ω to 2 MΩ resistance range, with a low temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm/°C, ensuring accuracy even under shifting thermal conditions. Its operating range of –55 °C to +125 °C makes it a natural fit for demanding environments, and a 0.5 W power rating at +85 °C puts it in a sweet spot for most industrial electronics.

What seals the deal, literally, is its fully sealed enclosure, which allows the trimmer to withstand common board washing procedures during assembly. That makes integration into automated production lines smoother and less risky.

Quietly Reliable, in All the Right Places

From welding systems and power tools to 3D printers and HVAC equipment, the M61 is built for applications where set-and-forget tuning is not just useful, it’s essential. Trimmers may be small and unassuming, but in feedback loops, voltage references, or signal balancing circuits, reliability here has a big ripple effect.

Now Available

Samples and volume orders of the M61 are available now, with standard lead times of around 15 weeks. It’s another solid addition to Vishay’s passive component lineup, and a reminder that sometimes, the smallest components carry the most responsibility.
