Würth Elektronik Adds 4 A and 5 A DC/DC Modules to MagI³C Line

Compact step-down power modules from Würth Elektronik now support 4 A and 5 A outputs, with up to 96% efficiency and excellent EMC performance.

Uploaded image Würth Elektronik has added two new high-current entries to its MagI³C-VDLM power module series, compact step-down regulators now available in 4 A and 5 A variants. Designed for efficiency, low noise, and ease of integration, these modules are aimed squarely at engineers dealing with tight space constraints and sensitive applications.

More Current, Same Footprint

Both new parts share the familiar 11 × 6 × 3 mm LGA-26 package used throughout the series. Input range is broad, 4 V up to 36 V, and output is adjustable from 1 to 6 V. As with the rest of the MagI³C-VDLM family, everything you need for a DC/DC buck regulator is baked into the module: controller, MOSFETs, compensation network, and an inductor, all shielded and sealed.

That level of integration means less external circuitry, faster time to layout, and fewer EMI headaches.

Efficiency That Adapts

What sets these apart isn’t just size or current. The real strength is how they manage efficiency across the load range. These modules automatically switch between PWM and PFM operation, depending on demand, so they stay efficient whether you're running flat out or idling.

Peak efficiency hits 96%, and EMC performance is solid, passing EN55032 Class B / CISPR-32. In real-world terms, that means you can drop them into noise-sensitive designs, think industrial control, test equipment, or anything built around MCUs, FPGAs, or interface ICs, without needing a deep dive into filter design.

Thoughtful Extras

Selectable switching frequencies and a sync function let you align with system clocks if needed, and Würth Elektronik backs it up with hands-on support: layout checks, filter design help, and no minimum order quantities.

The new 4 A and 5 A MagI³C-VDLM modules are available now, offering more power, without the size or complexity usually associated with discrete designs.
