Würth Elektronik Adds New Packages to WE-CMDC Choke Series

Würth Elektronik expands its WE-CMDC chokes with compact 7060, 9070, 1513, and 1211 packages, offering high-current EMI suppression in tight spaces.

Uploaded image Würth Elektronik has broadened its WE-CMDC family of common-mode chokes, adding new 7060, 9070, 1513, and 1211 packages. The update gives engineers more options when balancing space, current handling, and EMI suppression in compact designs.

Compact Chokes For Power And Signal Integrity

The WE-CMDC series is designed to suppress noise in data and power lines, achieving impedances up to 2,500 ohms while supporting rated currents up to 10 A. The addition of flatter, space-saving packages with heights between 3.5 and 6 mm helps engineers meet EMI requirements without sacrificing board real estate. For high-density layouts where every millimetre counts, this combination of low profile and high current capacity is unusual and particularly useful.

Where Engineers Can Use Them

The chokes are qualified to AEC-Q200 Grade 1, ensuring reliability in automotive and harsh industrial environments. They are intended for use in DC/DC converters, DC power rails, and data lines, making them a fit for designs such as automation equipment, industrial control systems, and telecom hardware, including PoE routers and gateways. In consumer and IoT devices, from smart appliances to wearables, the new sizes help tackle electromagnetic interference while keeping products small and efficient.

Engineering Support Alongside Components

Würth Elektronik backs the range with application advice and EMC expertise, recognising that suppression design often depends on more than just component choice. Engineers can access samples free of charge and order directly from stock without minimum quantity restrictions, simplifying evaluation and prototyping.

The expanded portfolio shows how high-current EMI filtering can now be achieved in increasingly compact footprints, helping designers address today’s tighter space and compliance constraints.
