Murata Introduces 1210 Common-Mode Choke for 10Base-T1S Automotive Ethernet
Murata has commercialized the DLW32MH241MX2, a 1210-size AEC-Q200 common-mode choke coil meeting OPEN Alliance Class 3 requirements for 10Base-T1S automotive Ethernet.
Murata Manufacturing has commercialized the DLW32MH241MX2, a 1210-size (3.2 × 2.5 mm) metal-terminal common-mode choke coil developed for 10Base-T1S in-vehicle Ethernet. The AEC-Q200 qualified device satisfies the OPEN Alliance Class 3 requirements for both 240 µH common-mode inductance (Scc21) and 10 pF maximum parasitic capacitance (Cp), supporting 10 Mbps automotive Ethernet networks. Mass production of the DLW32MH241MX2 has already begun.
Meets OPEN Alliance Class 3 Requirements
The DLW32MH241MX2 has been developed specifically for 10Base-T1S applications, meeting the electrical requirements defined by the OPEN Alliance specification for common-mode choke coils.
The device provides 240 µH common-mode inductance at 0.1 MHz, a rated voltage of 80 V, rated current of 70 mA, and operates across a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The component is qualified to AEC-Q200 for automotive applications.
Metal-Terminal Construction
Murata developed the common-mode choke using its winding and ferrite assembly technologies together with a metal-terminal construction. The component is intended for designers implementing 10Base-T1S interfaces as automotive Ethernet continues to expand into vehicle communication networks.

Technology Overview
10Base-T1S is a single-pair automotive Ethernet standard supporting communication speeds of up to 10 Mbps. Common-mode choke coils suppress common-mode noise on Ethernet lines while allowing differential data signals to pass with minimal attenuation.
