RECOM's RACM3000-M AC/DC power supplies deliver up to 3000 W with CAN bus monitoring, active load sharing, optional OR-ing FETs and 2MOPP isolation for medical, industrial and energy systems.

The RACM3000-M operates from a 90 to 264 VAC input, with the full 3000 W output available from 180 to 264 VAC. It extends RECOM’s high-power AC/DC range above the existing RACM1200-V series, while adding communication and parallel-operation functions for larger power systems.

RECOM is also planning variants of the related RDC3000-M series for 400 to 800 VDC input, extending the platform into energy and infrastructure systems using high-voltage DC distribution.

Typical applications for the RACM3000-M include battery charging systems, cobots, automated medical analysis and diagnostic equipment, machine control, communications infrastructure, energy storage and data centers.

CAN Bus Control and Parallel Operation

Alongside the higher output power, RECOM has added several functions intended to integrate the supply more closely with the rest of the system.

An integrated CAN bus interface supports monitoring and control, while a 5 V/2 A standby output is available for auxiliary circuitry. The series also provides Remote On/Off, Remote Sense and a DC-OK signal.

For systems requiring more than the output available from a single supply, the RACM3000-M supports active load sharing between multiple units. Optional integrated OR-ing FETs are available for parallel configurations, helping isolate individual supplies and manage power sharing between them.

Cooling is handled by a temperature-controlled intelligent fan, allowing fan operation to respond to the thermal load rather than running continuously at a fixed speed.

The RACM3000-M extends RECOM’s existing high-power AC/DC range above the RACM1200-V series, while adding the communication and parallel-operation functions required for larger power systems.

2MOPP Isolation for Medical and Industrial Systems

The RACM3000-M series meets UL/IEC 60601 requirements for medical equipment and provides 2MOPP isolation. It also meets UL/IEC 62368 for industrial and ICT equipment and IEC 60335-2-29 for charging applications.

That combination gives the same power-supply platform a route into applications with quite different safety requirements, from automated medical systems to machine control, charging equipment and communications infrastructure.

The 3 kW output, system-level monitoring and ability to operate multiple supplies in parallel also make the series relevant to higher-power installations including energy storage and data center equipment.
