Qorvo Expands RF Switching Portfolio With Wideband 10 GHz Family

Qorvo has introduced the QPC6144, QPC6122, and QPC6188 RF switches, delivering wideband operation from 50 MHz to 10 GHz with high isolation and simplified RF routing for 5G, industrial, drone, and test systems.

Uploaded image Qorvo has introduced a new family of RF switches covering frequencies from 50 MHz to 10 GHz, bringing together high-isolation and wideband routing functions across a common platform. The launch includes the QPC6144, QPC6122, and QPC6188, three devices aimed at infrastructure, industrial, drone, and test applications where multiple RF paths must be managed within increasingly compact radio architectures.

The new devices are RF switches used to route signals between different transmit, receive, calibration, and feedback paths inside RF systems. While each device targets a slightly different role, the family is built around a common goal of reducing the number of switching components needed in multi-band radio designs.

The QPC6144 is an SP4T switch specified for more than 65 dB isolation. Qorvo positions the device as an alternative to cascaded switch arrangements that are commonly used when higher isolation levels are required.

A Single-Switch Alternative To Cascaded Architectures

High-isolation paths are common in modern radio systems, particularly around calibration circuits and digital pre-distortion feedback networks where leakage can affect overall receiver performance. Traditionally, achieving very high isolation has often required multiple switching stages. That approach works, but every additional switch adds insertion loss, consumes board space, and introduces more routing complexity. The QPC6144 addresses that requirement with a single-device approach. By delivering greater than 65 dB isolation from one switch, designers can simplify portions of the RF signal chain without adding extra switching hardware. For radio platforms operating across multiple bands, reducing the number of devices in critical signal paths can also help preserve linearity and overall signal integrity.

One Platform Across 50 MHz To 10 GHz

Alongside the QPC6144, Qorvo has introduced the QPC6122 and QPC6188 wideband switches. The QPC6122 is an SP2T device intended for general RF routing and calibration functions where compact size and low insertion loss are priorities. The QPC6188 expands that capability into an SP4T format for applications requiring additional routing flexibility across multiple signal paths.

The QPC6144, QPC6122, and QPC6188 all cover 50 MHz to 10 GHz. The shared frequency range means the same switch family can be used across multiple RF paths within the same design.

Qorvo lists infrastructure equipment, industrial wireless systems, drone communications, and test equipment among the target applications for the new family.

Built For Calibration And Feedback Networks

The new devices are intended for RF routing functions such as calibration networks, feedback paths, test ports, and multi-band signal switching. The family is specified for low insertion loss, wideband operation, and high isolation across those routing functions. By consolidating multiple switching functions into fewer devices, the family can also help reduce component count and simplify RF layouts in systems that support multiple bands and signal paths.

The launch also arrives as radio platforms continue expanding into wider bandwidths and newer spectrum allocations, including FR3, increasing the number of RF paths that must be managed within the same hardware platform.

Samples of the QPC6144, QPC6122, and QPC6188 are available now, with demonstrations planned at IMS2026 in Boston.
